Melisa Cahnmann-Taylor (07)

Melisa Cahnmann-Taylor (07) has launched a new blog:

Teachers Act Up! Thoughts on Teaching, Language, and Social Change from Melisa Cahnmann-Taylor

She is teaching "Poetry for Creative Educators" and getting more K-12 language teachers to write verse and act up in classrooms and schools. She just published poems in Pilgrimage (2010) alongside Lorraine Healy (05) and Alicia Ostriker and has poems forthcoming in Calyx Magazine and City of Big Shoulders: An Anthology of Chicago Poetry (Ed. Ryan Van Cleave) with University of Iowa Press. She co-produces "Misha’s Poetry Podcast", interviewing poets on education and the teaching and learning of poetry.

November 3-10 she will host Anne Waldman for a short residency at the University of Georgia--there will be several events and all are listed on her blog.

If anyone is remotely close, please join the outRAGEous fun.
